Slow Start

Bring your data

Your history sets tomorrow's goal

Export once and upload the file in the game's Data tab. Slow Start still starts small and doubles, but your history sets the ceiling: TabPFN reads it and tomorrow's goal never asks for more than you will probably manage. About ten minutes of clicking. The server reads the file in memory and keeps nothing; your history stays on your device.

Steps

Pick one source of steps

If you wear a watch every day, use the watch's export. If your phone is what you carry, use Google Fit. Upload one of them, not both: they count the same steps.

Google Fit

  1. Open takeout.google.com and press Deselect all.
  2. Scroll to Fit, tick it, then Next step.
  3. Choose Export once, file type .zip, and Create export. Google emails a link when it is ready: minutes for some people, a few hours for others.
  4. Download and unzip it.

Upload Takeout/Fit/Daily activity metrics/Daily activity metrics.csv

That one file has a row per day, already merged across your phone and watch. The folder next to it is full of files named by date (one day each, in 15-minute slots), and All Data has a raw stream per device. Skip those: the per-device streams overlap, so adding them up counts your steps twice. Upload the wrong one and the app says so and names the right file.

Fitbit / Pixel Watch

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture, then Manage data and privacy (or Settings, Your data) and Export your data. It opens Google Takeout with Fitbit selected.
  2. Or go straight to takeout.google.com, Deselect all, and tick only Fitbit.
  3. Export once, .zip, Create export, then download and unzip it when the email arrives.

Upload every steps-*.json in Takeout/Fitbit/Global Export Data/ (select them all at once)

There is one file per month. Menu names move between app versions; if yours look different, the Takeout route always works.

Any CSV

Samsung Health, Garmin, a spreadsheet you keep by hand: anything that becomes two columns works.

date,steps
2026-10-20,4438
2026-10-21,8799

Dates as 2026-10-21, 10/21/2026 or 21 Oct 2026. One person per file.

Workouts (optional)

Hevy

Export your workouts

  1. In the Hevy app: Profile, the gear (Settings), Export & Import Data, Export Workouts.
  2. It saves or shares a workouts.csv. On the web, the same option is in Settings at hevy.com.

Upload workouts.csv

Training is a bonus, never a requirement: skipping it costs nothing and never changes your step goal.

What happens to your file

The cleaner, in plain words

Steps

  • A day under 500 steps is a phone or watch left behind, not a real day. It counts as rest: no miss, no penalty.
  • A blank day in Google Fit is the same.
  • Today is never imported, so a half-finished export day cannot count as a miss.
  • Goals look at your latest 365 days; older history is kept on your device.
  • Close-but-wrong files (one Google Fit day, a per-device stream) are refused, and the message names the right file.

Workouts

  • Warm-up sets and sets with no reps are skipped.
  • Assisted and weighted pull-ups and dips are left out: bodyweight moves are scored on reps alone.
  • Only the lifts the game plans are used (squat, bench, deadlift, overhead press, rows, a few dumbbell lifts, push-ups, pull-ups, dips). The rest are counted and listed, never silently lost.

Not sure, or the wrong numbers showing? Raise an issue on GitHub and we will teach the cleaner your case. The form asks for the file name and the first few lines, never the whole export.
